As of March 1, 2022, Pol Coatings of Twello is officially a family business. The son of painter Frank Pol started the company 4 years ago and this week his younger brother Luke joined him. They are not strangers to it; father Theo has been running Pol's painting business for 25 years. "Entrepreneurship is in our blood."
Over the past four years, Pol Coatings grew from a small business in a shed to a thriving coating factory on Engelenburgstraat in Twello. Pol Coatings produces high quality 2 component coatings, exclusively water-based.
"To continue to grow, I couldn't handle it alone," Frank Pol said. With Luke's arrival, Frank can focus entirely on all technical matters and product development. Luke picks up the commercial affairs. And the timing is good; within a few months the factory will double in size with the expansion into a vacant building on the same street.
The brothers have big ambitions; "With this expansion, we can further explore the international market. There are still many opportunities here," said Luke. The Netherlands is very much on the map in the international coating industry.
Pol Coatings is trying to position itself uniquely in the market: most coatings are still based on solvents such as terpetine, but that is bad for consumers. The fumes consumers inhale during processing are harmful. With water-based coatings, this is not the case. Pol Coatings is proud to bring a positive change to the coating and paint industry with their products and looks forward to the coming years with confidence.
